Dabble is a fun word game partially inspired by SpellTower, a classic word game by Zach Gage.
At its core, Dabble is a survival game, with the objective of scoring as long as possible: Every word submitted will remove the word letters (tiles)—and possibly some of the surrounding tiles—from the game board, but also adds a new row of tiles to the board. The game ends when adding a new row is no longer possible. You can challenge yourself and your friends in Apple Game Center by standing out on the game’s several leaderboards.
Longer words are rewarded with more points and more tiles removed from the board. Some special tiles add extra fun to the game: Locked (opaque) tiles need to be unlocked first by removing any neighboring tile, striped tiles wipe a whole row or diagonal string of tiles, and numbered tiles need to be part of longer words.
One of the game’s unique features is its rotating game board. Instead of a dull game board with fixed left and right edges, Dabble’s board rotates as if it wraps around a cylinder, with no left and right edges. If you have experienced SpellTower’s “valley of doom”, you’ll enjoy turning those valleys into peaks in Dabble.
We have many exciting additions planned for Dabble. We hope to turn Dabble into a collection of word games with similar game mechanics but different objectives. Our end goal—and what sparked this project in the first place—is to bring multi-player features to Dabble: We believe calm, focused minds are primed for a special kind of togetherness.
These additions would not be possible without your support. You can help us by purchasing one of our paid options (for yourself, friends and family), following us on social media, and of course, playing Dabble with friends and family and rating us on the App Store.
We hope you enjoy Dabble in the meantime. Let us know your thoughts at feedback@dabblewordgames.com.
May the Words be with you!
